Chapter 1: Discovery
"Yan! Where are you!" A large woman rushed through the doorway to see a young boy tending a small garden. "Yan, you little brat! Why didn't you come when I called you?" she said, breathing heavily. The boy turned around and said, "But Mother, Yoren told me to take care of his garden..." he shrunk back as she slapped him across the face. "Since when is your brother more important than me? I should punish you more, but I need you to do a chore. Here!" She handed him a small envelope. "Run in to town and buy some bread. And be quick about it!" she commanded before storming off into the house. Yan sighed. It had been like this since he was little, just because he didn't have any magic power like the rest of his family. Yan stood up and wiped the dirt from his clothes and brought his hand to his cheek. "She didn't have to hit me..." he thought. He looked at the sun, knowing that he would have to walk home in the dark. He sighed once more and started towards town.

Yan was walking down the now dark road, empty handed. He didn'y make it before the bakery closed. His mother was sure to beat him again. He reached down, picking up a stone from the road. He tossed it into some bushes, followed by a loud yelp. He stifened, hoping he had't hurt the animal. He rushed over to inspect the damage and saw a large wolf snarling at him. They stared at each other for a moment before Yan quickly started to run away. The wolf chased after him, more quickly then Yan would have liked. He kept running until he came to the side of a mountain. "Looks like I am trapped..." he thought. The wolf caught up to him, snarling, and leaped at him. Yan jumped out of the way, and started running along the wall. The wolf quickly recovered and started chasing him again. "I can't run forever, I need to lose it." He looked around for a place to hide, and eventually found a cave. He dashed inside, hoping the wolf wouldn't follow. Unfortuatly for him, it did. "Great, now I am trapped. What do I do no..." he was cut off as the ground below him began to crumble. He screamed as he fell into the newly opened fissure.


"Mmm, uhh" he groaned, coming to. He opened his eyes slowly, looking around. Suprisingly enough, it was rather bright. "Huh, where am I?" he said aloud. He started walking towards the source of the light, until he came upon a large deposit of crystal. "Wow... it's beautiful..." he said. he moved closer, and stopped. He could see something in the crystal. He moved his face closer, and he could see it clearly now. It was a man who looked to be about 19. Yan blushed as he noticed the man was completly naked. "What is he doing in there?" Yan thought. He looked closer and was captivated by this man's, for the lack of a better word, beauty. Yan brought his face up to the crystal and placed his hands on the surface, all while staring at this man. Suddenly, the crystal began to crack. "Ahh, oops..." Yan said as the crytal began to shatter. He watched in suprise as the man opened his eyes and stood up.
